Dust in the wind.

The animal of the city I now call home breathes and howls and sighs and giggles. I learn from its intensity and find myself calling on the winds to teach me motion; they have taught me patience. They have taught me how to writhe and freeze. I think about my beautiful, inane, precious, heartbreaking, delightful, ever-shifting life and how it, too, is a beast of its own. It gallops towards—and away from, which is sometimes hard to reckon with.

Loss is its own special kind of ending, maybe because it's usually not about something we plan or set out to walk away from on our own accord. Out of reverence, I won't go into detail here but will say that I have spent much of the past month tucked away tending to loved ones and taking personal time to get some life affairs in order. I'm endlessly grateful for the grace and patience you've shown me this month and am excited to welcome Luka back with you (fully, and brighter than ever) as we enter a new year and leave 2021 behind. I'm excited to say that just in time for the new year, I'm returning to school (and simultaneously working on Masters program applications) so am already in the throes of arranging my schedule for the upcoming weeks. And in lieu of linking my wishlist this time around, I'm humbly opening my tip jar if you'd like to contribute anything towards my tuition and textbooks as I set out to conquer some lofty aims (as a belated happy holiday, perhaps!).

In addition, COVID concerns suggest that it may be wise to limit in-person availability and to favor longer engagements. I'll be getting COVID tested weekly, and will continue to be transparent about my health and exposure (and ask your help and understanding in doing the same). That being said, I highly recommend planning ahead as much as possible if you'd like to connect these next couple of months! There is lots of excitement to look towards on the horizon.

In spirit of the strange sparkle of new beginnings, January's date special is this: We get dazzled (and dinner) at Chicago Magic Lounge. After an evening of oohs and aahs, we pull a disappearing act to make magic of our own. (4 hours: 1,350)

You can ensure a spot on my dance card by filling out my booking form or sending an email to get pre-screened for a future date. In the meantime, keep up with my goings-about via my Twitter and Instagram.

Wishing you warm holidays and a happy new year! To the things we've let go of, and to all the space for what's to come.

xoxo, L
